Hi Diane....I can remember wearing shoes that had metal attached to the
heels, presumably to make them last longer. I loved the noise they made
as I clicked along. Hate to think what they would be like on ice! I also
have fond memories of the Whit Walks. We wore our new (sometimes white)
dresses. I think though, I wore the same dress several years in a row.
My mother just let down the hem. We carried a posy of flowers. I can
still smell the fragrance of the sweet william and the carnations. Am I
losing my sense of smell, or are these flowers not as fragrant to-day?
