I have recently received the marriage of my great grandparents, Isador Hermann and Sophy Speiers in London in 1880. The were both Polish Jewish immigrants yet they were married in a registry office. How common was this then. Could her age, 17, have had anything to do with this?

Also could someone tell me the month of the 1881 census.
