Well, there are probably several answers. The reason
I understand is that when you leave the cemetry you
should cleanse your hands, why just your hands and not
your hole body I dont know - most likely only your
hands have come in contact with the gravestone. It's
sort of separating cemetry from everything else.

Look forward to hearing other explanations/
understandings.
