Hi Ros
I'm not Jewish and I'm on a steep learning curve insofar as Jewish records
are concerned!
I, too, had the civil marriage certificate of my g-g-parents and Charles
Tucker sent me a copy of their marriage contract, their ketubah. This gave
me their Hebrew names (George turned out to be Gershon and Maria turned out
to be Miriam) It also told me that Maria / Miriam's father Jonas was dead. I
understand that what both you and I really need is a copy of the
'authorization for marriage' which gives a lot more detail of family members
(names of brothers of the groom, for example)
Hope this helps - and good luck!
Kind regards
Rosemary
