I have a lovely new book...
"Releve des Ketoubot au ConSistoire de Paris 1872-1884" (Paris Ketubot
1872-1884)

Prepared to do look ups...

Why does this pertain to British-Jewry? Well, it has some "Brits" in
it. As well as a surname index there is a place of birth index and I
have just found this marriage:

17 Sept 1884 27 Elul 5644 Nazareth Synagogue, Paris
KLABER William, Auguste born 21 Dec 1864, London
living at 7 rue Villiers
LEVY Jessy, Rosaline born 25 Apr 1867, Leeds England
living at 7 rue Villiers

ceremony conducted by the Rabbi (not named although others are) Class
4 (not sure what this refers to so ideas welcome) 2 witnesses amongst
which Hugo Oppe

When widows marry it includes the name of the deceased husband.

Let me know if you are interested.

Best
Sherry (seen a small flurry of snow for about 30 minutes around 10
this morning right in the centre of Salford, which is very
unusual-it's currently 1C but feels freezing in the wind)
