I am also having trouble finding a birth certificate. My BHC was known as
James Henry Beatie (Beatty, Beattie), went by the first name of Henry, and his
Marchmont records list him as Henry Wellesley Beattie. I have checked birth
records, but so far, no luck. I too am beginning to think his birth date (and
who KNOWS about the name) was fabricated.
