Sophiee

I have found your family in the 1901 census under the name McCooly. This is not unusual as my own family come under at least 9 spellings of the name. The transcription of the census is not great!!! i found it by using a wildcard search with every variation of the ending of the name that I could think of.

I hope it is of some help to you.

They were living in Everton, a district of Liverpool. You can see the info if you go to the 1901 census site and type in the name as Mc Cooly and Lancashire as a place or keyword.

I have tried Ancestry but nothing matched.

I have also searched the free births deaths and marriages at

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com

but had no luck. I would say though, that it looks like the McCooey name is incomplete. It is worth trying on a monthly basis as it is updated regularly.

Sorry I had to post this to the list but I have terrible trouble getting through to some ISP's in Canada. It is something to do with rich text, plain text and what the ISP's decipher as 'attachments'! I think!!!

Yvonne
