I was recently in the cemetery in Brockville to see the monument
(cairn) put there in honour of the BHC who died in Fairknowe (I think
this is where they died but I can't be positive about this.) Here are
the names on the cairn. My apologies if this has been done before. I
find it strange that so many died in the same years. Was there a plaque
or something? Another question came to mind but no one could seem to
answer it. If this was just a cairn, where were the chlldren actually
buried? Also, I went to see Fairknowe orphanage which is now apartments
and had been changed physically on the outside. There is no veranda
anymore. I went in side to the hallway. It was such an erie feeling to
be in a place where my grandmother had actually walked. I also have
some pictures of my grandmother's trunk. That is another story which I
will relate soon.
