I do not know if one of the Canham children on the LAC database is of this
family but just in case:

The Times, July 28, 1897
At Lambeth, Emily Canham, 45, described as a charwoman, was charged on
remand on a warrant with deserting her three children, whereby they had
become chargeable to the Lambeth Board of Guardians. In September last the
prisoner, a widow, was in receipt of outdoor relief from the guardians in
respect of the children in question. At the end of that month she left home
and did not return, and the eldest daughter, with whom she had left the
children, obtained an order from the relieving officer for the admission of
the children to the workhouse, where they still remain. A warrant was taken
out for the prisoner's arrest, and last week a warrant officer found her
outside a publichouse in the Stockwell-road, and took her into custody. Mr.
Denman sentenced the prisoner to six weeks' hard labour.
