Wealthy Lady charged with the murder of a boy
Owen Sound, Ontario, Nov 15 - the village of Big Bay, 13 miles from this town is in a state of excitement over the arrest of Miss Helen Findlay, an educated and wealthy lady, charge with the murder of George E Green, 17 a boy from the Barnardo Home. He died last Friday and the postmortem examination showed that the stomach was empty and the body covered with bruises. Neighbors testified that Miss Findlay who is a powerful woman frequently knocked the lad down and beat him with a stick. She admitted that she beat him but contended that it was only such chastisement as he deserved. She was remanded for a week without bail.
