William Brown (b.1817 on Atlantic Ocean on the ship from Scotland to North America) emigrated with his parents to upstate NY. William's parents allowed the captain of the ship to name him.

William m. Elizabeth and they lived in Rossie NY. Their children: Margaret Ann , Sarah, Alice, Mungo, Letitia, Henrietta, & Ella.
---------
According to 1870 Census, St Lawrence County, Rossie NY (p. 181A), William's real estate was worth $1400; his personal value $1760. Elizabeth was listed as unable to write and listed as "Keeping House". Also, Mungo was listed as being born in NY & occupation as "Works on a Farm". All children listed were: Mungo (18 yrs), Christina (16 yrs), Lutetia (13 yrs), Henrietta (11 yrs), & Jennie (9 yrs). All kids listed as being born in NY. They all attended school except Mungo.

According to 1880 Census, St. Lawrence County, Rossie NY, listed are: Mongo (28 yrs) single, Letitia (23 yrs) married, Rettie M. (22) single, & Ella J (18) single.
------------

I have little info on their children except for Mungo's descendants (my line). I haven't discovered the names of William's parents yet or where in Scotland they were from. I am assuming that they took a passenger boat to Canada & from there went to Rossie...since Rossie NY is very close to the Canadian/US Border and that is the route most Upstate NY immigrants used.

Is there anyone out there that may have a connection?
Kelly
