Just curious Pat, I saw your name with Brown's from NY and wondered. My Browns were in Miami co, IN in the 1840 s. My gr grandfather, Charles, was married there in 1847 and in Crawford co, IL by 1859. Someone in the family said they had heard that they came out of NY. I have no proof of this, but this cousin was around some of the older family members more than I was.

I have tried to find his father, but so far have not.
