I am a relatively new subscriber to these lists, so I apologize if someone
else has previously asked about these people. My great-great-great
grandfather was Sheldon BROWN. According to his death record, he was born
about 1811 in Scituate, RI to Joseph and Sarah BROWN. Sheldon was a farmer
and married Penelope HARRINGTON (born about 11 December 1808 in Foster, RI,
to Samuel and Abby HARRINGTON). Sheldon and Penelope had at least one
child, a son John Sheldon BROWN, born about 1 July 1833 in Scituate.
Sheldon died on 13 April 1876 of pneumonia in Warren, RI and is buried in
the South Cemetery in Warren. His wife Penelope died on 13 March 1895 of
"chronic brights". Their son, John Sheldon Brown, married Ann Eliza CHASE, a
descendant of William Chase of Yarmouth.
