Dear Wanda & Betty--

WOW! For the first time in 4 years I have found an Illinois BROWN Family with a member named "Clarinda!" I am hoping what follows will close the gap on my years of searching. Here goes...

My gt-gt-gtgrandmother is Clarinda BROWN, born 8 Apr 1832 in PA (county unknown). Her mother was definitely "Olive" (nee ?) but I do not know her father. In 1850 she was living in McHenry Co, IL. She married Dec 1852 Jacob V.V. YATES in Kenosha Co, WI, and moved to Chippewa County, died there in 1852.

NOW ... there are several related families with surnames SIRRINE, STEVENS, and MILLARD. Every one of them has several "Clarindas." So I am hoping that this somewhat unusual first name was passed on through several generations and may lead back to my Clarinda and her family.

Can you tell me about your "Clarinda" BROWN and roots in PA, perhaps? I am hoping for some family links in there somewhere.

Thanks,

Bill

Well, Wanda, I printed your message out last night as didn't want to
give you a quick response as there are a couple of coincidences in the
names. It is all so confusing :-) Anyway, there may be a possibility
ever so remote; however, I'll give you a little information that has me
wondering:

My gr grandfather, Lemuel Brown was born 1815 in Berkshire County, New
York. His mother was Polly Jenison (Jennison) and her parents were
Adijah Jenison and Mary Robinson. I don't have any further information
about Polly Jenison. Do you have any thing further on Ursula's Uncles?
