After 1840, Cyren(i)us BROWN of Warren Co. PA died. His family
disbursed.

Son Elijah, b. PA, married to Jane TEAL, went to ?. Jane d.
ca. 1848. He m2, date/year unknown, Eunice -?-. He lived in
Colfax or Verona Twp, MI in 1880; d. 1895.

1. Charles E., s/o Elijah, b. Jan 1840, (Warren Co.?) PA m.
Mary --?--after the Civil War (he was in 1st MA, Co. G, Heavy
Artillery) in which he lost his left leg. Children were:

Jacob-b. ca. 1871
Jane (Jennie) E.-b. Aug 1875, MI
James-b. June 1881, MI-a printer
Charles-b. Dec 1886 MI
John W.-b. Sept 1875 MI; clerk in a food deps
+Eva --?-- b. Apr 1875 MI. Married for 3 years in 1900.

2. John Pember BROWN, s/o Elijah,-b. 1838? Sodus, Wayne Co., NY
was apprenticed to a sailmaker. He doesn't show up again until
1861 when he enlisted in Chicago Battery A, light artillery.
Upon release from the army, he m. 30 Dec 1869 to Catherine
(Kate) GERHART in Chicago. In 1877 or so he went to CA. Before
he died in 1925, he mentioned his nephew Jimmy (brother Charles'
son above) in his diary.

3. Lucretia, d/o Elijah, m. George STEVEN. They seemed to live
between OH and IA, but most of their children were born in IA.

4. Mary, d/o Elijah, m. a George --?--; d. 1926 (in CA?)

5. Two sons of Elijah, names unknown, were killed in the Civil
War.
