Richard BROWNE arrived on the "Mary and John" from England in 1634, with
his wife Edith (surname unknown). He settled first at Ipswich where he was
made a freeman 6 May 1635. Later he served as a proprietor of Newbury and a
town officer. Richard died 26 Apr 1661, Newbury, Essex, MA. With Edith he
had 3 sons in Newbury: Joseph, Joshua and Caleb. Edith died Apr 1647 and
he married Edith Greenleaf, widow of Giles Badger. By her he had Elizabeth,
Richard, Edmund, Sarah, and Mary.
This is all I have on my computer, but I sense that if you looked around a
little, there is a lot more on Richard Browne. I have some birth
information on some of the children and one line of descendancy on son
Joshua.
