Patty,
Far as I know, my line is still that of Maggie BROWN b. 23 Mar
1862, daughter of Alford T. and Sarah J. or Julie J. FANNIN BROWN, and
Alford was the son of your Elijah BROWN and Alcey COFFE. But, I'm going
to save your message as a text file and print it out, so I can enter it
all ..... Maybe I'll sit back and wait, and let someone else figure out
the Enoch/Enochson family for the time being!

Don't know if I wrote you about it or not, but I'm having fits
with my genealogy database program. Brother's Keeper is based on
Btrieve, and somewhere in the process of upgrading my hard drive over
Christmas, where I moved things around and re-formatted the old drive and
re-installed all kinds of applications, I changed the most important file
in the Brtrieve engine.
Apparently I DID have something on my computer that installed
version 6 of this file on the Windows System, and so all my folders and
back-up floppies were written using version 6, but whatever that other
program was, it was one I didn't re-load. [and for the life of me, can't
figure out what it was] ....So when I re-installed the up to date version
of the Brother's keeper program, I was back to version 5 of that file ...
and it can only read one of my genealogical folders - fortunately, my
biggest set. The newer version can read and write to older files, but
the older version can't read or write to newer version files ....
ARGH!!!!
The program author has offered to take my files and convert them
back to version five, and it looks as if I'll have to do it ....that
includes all my census records. So, all that stuff is sitting right here
on my computer, but I can't use it now ....

Aren't we all so glad we use computers now, to make all our work
so much easier?

Jeannie
