Hi to All,
I am new to this list and am looking for of all names on a Brown list
"Brown". I am Mary Myers and I live in Arizona. The Brown that I am
looking for is John Shadrack BROWN born November 25, 1815 in England.
He married Jane MANSFIELD also born in England I believe 1833. I don't
have the date of marriage but the first child was born in 1861. Census
records for 1860 in Illinois does not show the family there. They moved
to Ford County, Illinois and apparently remained there until 1866 or 67
and then moved to Grundy County and by 1873 the were back living in Ford
County. The following children were born to John and Mary:
Thomas BROWN b. August 28, 186l, Ford County, Illinois
Mary Elvira BROWN b. December 07, 1863 Ford County, Illinois
Fanny Mae BROWN b. February 22, 1883, Grundy County, Illinois
Elizabeth Belle BROWN b. March 16, 1869 Grundy County, Illinois
Charles BROWN b.September 20, 1873 Ford County,Illinois (my grandfather)
I am not sure if they were married in England or after they came to
the United States. If this seems to be any names connecting with your
family name of BROWN I would appreciate hearing from you as I have more
information on the family but I would like information as to where in
England they were born.
