his arrest, but he was allowed bail on promising he would 'carrie himself
Loyally to his Majesty King George.'

BROUN, Joseph, bn 1731 tailor Banff. Transported 5 May 1747 from Liverpool
to Leeward islands in ship Veteran, but the ship was attacked off Antiqua
by a French privateer from martinique. The Governor of Martinique refused
English demands to hand the prisoners back and granted the request of 10 to
be sent to France possibly to neogitate for others.
