I have been subscribing to this BROWN website for almost a year now and I
have yet to see anything of the BROWNs that I am searching for. The first
I have seen of my Thomas BROWN was in Mass., then to Clinton, Maine. His
son, Thomas M. BROWN, b. around 1800, married Lauretta EMERY, also of
Clinton, Maine (maybe Waterville, Fairfield, or somewhere in that area.
They left there before the Civil war and settled in Texas (Matagorda
Island, Calhoun County). Their daughter, Mary Fletcher BROWN, was born in
Indiana, married my ggrandfather, Robert Parkinson Wilkinson of Helmsley,
N. Yorkshire, England. They settled in Goliad County, TX, in the 1860's.
Is there ANYONE out there
doing research on this leg of the BROWN clan? If so, please let me know so
that we could share information. I have a 900+ page book on the EMERY
family, from John EMERY down to the present time. If anyone is interested
in exerpts, please let me know and I will supply you with what I have.
