In the Dallas Public Library is a book about this strange oddity in the Brown family. Off the top of my head it is from either a William or an Edward Brown, immigrant, from Va. A medical history was done over a long period of time and found that not all but would usually show up in this Brown family. The more I think about it, it is in the William Brown family.
I did notice that alot of the descendants were called "Dock", because of the toes it would make one waddle somewhat. I know the book is still in the Dallas library, but can't recalled the names of the people who were studied in that book, but it covered quite a few generations. It wasn't only the toes involved but also the fingers.
