Hello William. Unfortunately, we do not know much about this Mrs. Eliza
(maiden name unknown) Brown, except that she was married before, widowed,
and had at least one son by her first husband (name unknown). We do know
that Erastus worked on a farm near this Mrs Brown and family and we assume
this is how they met. We know that Erastus was considered "orphaned", but
back then... it could have just meant that his father was dead. I have seen
this in another part of my family and the children were still living with
their mother and by today's standards would not be called "orphaned". I
have a not into one of my cousins and will write back when I learn more.
