My great grandfather was Thomas Harris Brown born March 25, 1823 who married
Elizabeth Marshall Hamner and named one of his children John Augustus (or
Augusta) Brown. His other children were named Thomas Elliott, Fannie Lee,
Ida Marshall, and Gertrude Elizabeth.

Therefore I suspect he is somehow descended from the Bernard
Brown line (of The "B" Browns) in Albemarle, Va. that has a Thomas Harris
Brown (Bernard's son) and a John
Augustus Brown (Bezaleel G. Brown's son) in it.

Could my great grandfather have been
Benjamine Hescott Brown's son, Thomas Brown?

Or could he have been Bernard M. Brown and
Miriam Cave Maupin's son, Thomas Harris Brown?

If there is anyone out there descended from these people who knows more
about them I would be very appreciative for information.

Do you have any ideas as to how I could figure
