Dear Rootsweb Listers,

I was most exited when I recently heard that the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) was going to be offering their extensive
Family Search programs (at least Ancestral File and possibly others) on the
web. Many reports were that it was to begin in March. Like many of you, I
have checked several times a day at http://www.familysearch.org in hopes of
finding the Beta version up and running.

Finally, today I called the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and
inquired about it. I was told that a public announcement would be made when
it is available and that it could be later this month. I suggest we
continue to try the above URL, but not expect it until it is actually
functioning. Apparently it is a mammoth effort and does have many "bugs" to
eradicate.
