The problem with the English language is that it does not reflect tone
nor emphasis. If the census was conducted by the BGS, then Eve WOULD be
able to vouch for it.
The meaning of 'amateur' and 'professional' do not confer any
information as to the capability or expertise of a person to do a job.
A piece of paper is no guarantee of expertise, though it does infer
a theoretical knowledge.
I am an amateur, I even hope to take a degree in Local History later
this year; and if I qualify I will still be an amateur ! Sometimes in
life one meets people who have unbelievable expertise. Eve is one.
I am here to learn, to be informed, to share experiences about
Buckinghamshire. I have no time for personal slander.
