Sorry, I don't know of this marriage in my TREADWELL branch, but mention
of Padbury prompts me to re-post one of my "brick-wall" queries: does
anyone know, or know how I could possibly find, the mother of Anne Maria
SMITH, consistently shown as born in Paris, France c1847. Her father
was Henry SMITH -- possibly the Henry SMITH born in Padbury in 1818, as
Anne Maria was living with her "aunt" (exact relationship unclear) in
1861 and 1871 and the aunt, Maria JUDGE, was born Maria SMITH in
Padbury, 1812, though not Henry's sister. I have no clues to Anne
Maria's mother's identity, or any knowledge of how/why A M was was born
in France, other than a faint family rumour that Henry, a farm bailiff,
may have worked for the Rothschilds at one time.

No trace of Anne Maria in the 1851 census, so she may still have been in
France then, age about 4.

Any help or suggestions would be most welcome. I've met many dead ends
and am eager for new ideas.

Hi,
Forgive me for interupting the flow of e-mails to the list concerning
the
TEADWELL families of Bucks - but I have a question.
Does anyone have or know of a marriage between an Alexander GREAVES to a

TREADWELL (possibly Elizabeth born 1827 Padbury) ??

Thankyou for your time.

Pat
