Geraldine,

The 1798 Posse Comitatus is a list covering all the hamlets, villages and
towns of the county detailing every male aged between 15 and 60 and capable
of (but not already in), military service (and some who weren't e.g. lame,
Quaker); it listed the number of horses, wagons and carts owned as well as
wind and water mills. It is available on fiche, in print and on a
searchable CD-ROM which allows comparisons to made across the county. The
CD can be obtained from the BGS.
