JACKSON. – To Lieut. and Mrs J.W. JACKSON (nee I. KEYSER), a Son, born on the 25th inst.
PONSONBY. - To Mr and Mrs F.J.K. PONSONBY, at Stoneham Maternity Home on the 23rd inst, a Daughter.
RIGG. – To Harry and Doris (nee ROBERTSON), on the 22nd June, a Daughter, at Moedersbond Nursing Home, Pretoria.
BARNARDO – SIMPSON. The engagement has been announced between Beatrice, second eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E.C. SIMPSON, of Aberdeen, and Eric, eldest son of Mr and Mrs M.J. BARNARDO of Port Elizabeth.
RAUBENHEIMER. – SMITH. The engagement is announced of Ada, youngest daughter of Mrs L. SMITH and the late Mr J. SMITH formerly of Willowmore, now of Johannesburg, to M. Raubenheimer of the Rand Airport, Germiston.

PAINE – THWAITES. In Johannesburg at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 27th, Joyce, eldest daughter of Col. and Mrs THWAITES, to Douglas, elder son of Mr and Mrs G.C. PAINE, of Redhouse.
SUTTNER – BLUMBERG. Married at Upington on 24th June, 1945, Judy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs I. BLUMBERG, to Maxwell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs R.S. SUTTNER of Steynsburg.
CLASSENS. – Passed away at 6 1st Avenue, Walmer, on 24th June, 1945, Stephanus Johannes, husband of Aletta CLASSENS, in his 83rd year. Service at the above address this (Tuesday) afternoon at 4 o’clock, thence the funeral will proceed to the South End Cemetery.
CROFT. – Passed away at 67 Eastbourn Road, on the 24th June 1945, Victor, husband of Margaret CROFT and father of Hazel, Peggy, Vera, Muriel, Herbert, John and Harold, at the age of 58 years. Service in Jones and Rice Chapel, 43 Russell Road, this (Tuesday) afternoon at 2 o’clock, thence the funeral will proceed to South End Cemetery.
FOWLDES. – Passed away on the 25th June, 1945, David, husband of Beatrice FOWLDS, in his 69 year. Service in Jones and Rice Chapel, 43 Russell Road, this (Tuesday) afternoon at 3 o’clock, thence the funeral will proceed to the South End Cemetery.
STANDER. – Died at 93 Relton Street on the 24th June, 1945, Jacobus Maatjan, husband of Martha STANDER, at the age of 63 years. Service in the Dutch Reformed Church, Reith Street, Sidwell, this Tuesday morning at 9.45 o’clock, thence the funeral will proceed to the North End Cemetery.
TASKER. – Passed away at Pretoria, on June 25th, 1945, Edith, wife of James, mother of Jimmie and Frances (Lockley). A short service will be held at St Andrew’s Church, Pretoria. Commencing at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday), cremation will take place at the Braamfontein Crematorium, Johannesburg, at 11 a.m. 27th June, 1945.
VAN DER MESCHT. – Passed away at the Provincial Hospital on the 24th June, 1945, Johannes Willem Frederick, son of Mr and Mrs J.W. F. VAN DER MESCHT, at the age of 35 years. Service in the Dutch Reformed Church, Reits Street, Sidwell, this (Tuesday) morning at 10.45 o’clock, thence the funeral will proceed to North End Cemetery.
VERMAAK. – Died at the Provincial Hospital, on the 24th June, 1945, Thomas Johannes, husband of Ellis VERMAAK, at the age of 43 years. The funeral will leave the Apostolic Church Hall, Mount Road, this (Tuesday) morning, at 11 o’clock, for the North End Cemetery.
VERMAAK. – Passed away at Quagga District, Uitenhage, on the 19th June, 1945, J.C. VERMAAK (ASON) aged 59 years. Mourned by his wife and children Helena, Alex and Rene.
HEARNDEN, - Frederick, died 26th June,1934. Missed by his son, Fred.
HENDRICKS. – Irene (nee RAMLAN), died 26th June 1944. Remembered by M. RAMLAN, J. HARRI, Leslie, Ramphal, Sanker, Lachmie, Parboo and Nathwal.
