Hi All,

to> Please tell us your BIGGEST BRICK WALL, and let us all try to knock
to> them down.

to> Mine is the birth place of my G-G-Great-Grand-Farther.
to> John Edward BULL, married Mary Ann WIGNALL 25 Sep 1826 at St Mathew's
to> Bethnal Green, London England. I have found the marriage record.

I have the self same problem....why oh why do people call their
sons JOHN BULL.

My biggest problem is that I don't know WHERE my John Bull came
from as he was an officer in the Army and there is no luck there
as it is too far back to have personal details on them.

I pick him up in the Military Lists June 1776 as a Lt. in the 6th
Regt of Foot and later, in 1773 when he marries Anne KENTISH in
Tooting, Surrey (witnesses Jonathan Kentish and Joseph Turner)
I think I recall seeing Joseph Turner in the Army Lists too.

The only two births that I can prove to this couple are Robert Alexander
Bull in 1778 and Ann Louisa Francis Bull in 1795. From family diaries
we know that he had brothers Edward and James and, more than likely the
usual JOHN.

We know that the family must have been well educated and that they
would have originally had a bit of money as his son Robert's family
all married into the peerage.

I have traced all Robert's family through to the present day and I am
now onto Ann's side. One thing that we have found in a Birthday Book
was `Cousin J.Aubury Bull' who was born on 21 Aug 1845. Can't find him
in St Caths indexes, so my guess is that his father was also Army or Navy.

How's that for BRICK WALLS. Any of these names seem familiar?
Byeeee,
Bon.
