Thanks John!

My grandma, who is passed, was very proud of her BULL lineage as well as my
grandma's brothers who were ALL wonderful and well-known men in their
communities! As a matter of fact, my favorite uncle, and the man my
brother was named after, was put in the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Arizona.
Proudly he wore HIS name.

It's very possible that some of the Bulls had that feeling of embarrassment
over their name. However, I have noticed a very rich history within the
Bull line that seems to contradict that. Take a look at Ambrose, for
instance. EVERYONE and his brother is researching this man, wondering who
his parents were and where he came from. I've heard everything from Norway
to England. Anyway, my point is, he was a Revolutionary War Hero. This is
a man that I can honestly say was proud to be a BULL. Others would include
all the Bulls who descended from him. Mary Bull had a son (Mary, daughter
of Ambrose) and gave him her name of Bull because of her love for him. She
could have left it as Roach, but she didn't. I can think of alot of names
I've run across, expecially in my lines that would possibly cause
embarrassment. However, I think today's society has done this for us and
the past societies didn't. :) Just my thought. Please take this in the
spirit it was meant.

I too am Proud to say, I AM A DESCENDANT OF AMBROSE BULL AND ELIZABETH
Johnson!
