Okay I am having a little trouble wrapping my mind around this. If the
Jesse Bull you have listed below is the father of my William Bull then that
would mean that he was about 71 when he fathered William....Just nine years
before he died.

I agree with Connie about the LIKELY parentage of your William Bull/Buell.
Jesse Bull (b. ABT 1794 at Morristown, Hamblin Co., TN and d. 7 Jan 1874
Callaway, Harlan Co. (now Bell Co.), KY), husband of Jane Daniel, is said to
be the son of Jacob Bull (of MD & Grainger Co., TN) & Sarah Vincent. Jacob
is said to be the son of John Bull & Hannah Ruff. This should get you
started looking for verification.
Your info that this Bull family had Native American heritage is repeated by
others about this Bull line. I have not seen any evidence - one way or the
other.
