Sandra, Curtis is in Gatlinburg this week. If he has time he is going to
the Cherokee Museum to talk to Bo Taylor, Archivist. Bill Hatcher of
Cleveland TN gave the JGB artifacts to the museum. We are trying to find out if Mr.
Hatcher is still around and what his relation to JGB is. I noticed several
Hatchers buried at Weaver's.j
Did you know there is a book we bought at the museum, Removal of the
Cherokees, that has the story and a picture of JGB and his second wife? It is
$5.00. We have one copy, but Curtis is supposed to buy several more for each of
our grandchildren. Really up against a wall finding out JGB's parents.
Last summer I talked to several members of Martin and Decatur's family and
we planned to go to their reunion, but my son was visiting with his four
children and we got too busy. Really, I should have insisted he go with all four
kids . . . they are all Burnettes, but they were having a good time at the
lake, couldn't do it. It may have been your aunt and mother I spoke to.
Regards, Charlotte B.
