Hi everyone! I'm new to this list and would like to post my interest in the
above name.

My ancestor was a William Mortimer Butler, supposedly the second son of
William Mortimer Butler of New London (I assume this is the county in
Connecticut ??). My William supposedly arrived in Perth, Western Australia,
as either the captain of a whaling vessel, or one of its crew. He married
in Perth in 1858 to a Hannah Taylor and had issue: Clare, born 1858;
Hannah, born 1860; Lucius Lathrop, born 1862; Raymond Mortimer, born 1870;
Edith Adelaide, born 1871.

If any of these names ring a bell - please let me know ! I would love to
track down my American Butler ancestors.
