I'm not the authority and there are various versions of this Butler
line...but I have Christopher Butler VI as married to Mary Catherine Unknown.
The time period fits for your Catherine (b. 1776) to be their daughter.
Christopher Butler IV was likely born in the 1780's according to my sources.
I have Christopher VI born bef. 1738, Anson Co., NC and living there in
1770). In 1769 he was involved in a Regulatory dispute. He died in 1786
leaving land to his son Elias.
I don't have the daughters of Christopher VI and Mary Catherine, however I
have seven sons listed and speculated: Christopher V, David II, John, Thomas,
Elias (the Miller), Joshua I, and James VI. I assumed there were missing
daughters. Elias and Thomas moved together from North Carolina to middle
Tennessee. I descend from (possible brother of your Catherine) Elias
Butler's daughter Mary "Elizabeth" Butler McAuley, b. 1791. Just to add some
confusion...her sister was Mary "Catherine" Butler, born in 1789.
Although your Catherine is not listed, you may find information of interest
at www.ajourneypast.com. From the Index, click Pers. Family History, then
click on the Butler/McAuley banner. If you agree there's a connection it
would be great to add your line. Exchange files? Good luck in your search.
