I wish I had started asking questions years ago, but I was one of the youngest of all the grandkids, so my grandparents had all passed. Most of the aunts and uncles have passed too. I constantly ask those who are still here questions.........they enjoy remembering and you never know what clue they have that may unlock the past. My advice? ask, ask, ask! I'll keep a copy of your post in case any of my research overlaps yours. Enjoy!
