Dona, my mother was a BUTLER. If you hunt the Bulter's down, you will find that the first "BUTLER" was the First Butler of Ireland which was an honorific Title of the court of Ireland. His name was actually "BOTELER" and he gave his name to one of his sons. That son had 5 children and their last names all appear as BUTLER. This all happened around the year 1116 which is about 376 years before Columbus got to America. My grandfather was William John Butler and I believe he was born in Sheets Harbor, Nova Scotia, Canada. So, Dona, good luck in finding your Butler, I've hit a dead-end with mine.....A.J.
