Subject: [BUTLER-L] BUTLER DNA Project Results
Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2003 14:18:16 -0500
Hello,
My cousin got his results yesterday from the Butler DNA Project, and so
far he hasn't matched anyone.
It would certainly be helpful since the administrator of the Butler DNA
Project doesn't post the results any place, that we at least post them here.
We are sure of our Butlers back to my gg-grandfather, but we are not
100% sure who his father was. I am going to post what we know and then
what we think. His DNA markers were: 13-23-14-10-13-13-11-14-11-12-11-28
Robert Lafayette Butler, born 1827, Barren Co., KY; died 1896/1900
Barren Co., KY. Married 13 Jan 1850 Eliza G. DUFF, daughter of
Elizabeth "Betsy" WILLIS and Fielding DUFF of Barren Co. Eliza was born
1829 and died 1863/1870 in Barren Co., KY.
Their son: James Franklin Butler, born 16 Jan 1851 in Barren Co., KY;
died Oct 1906, Cross Plains, Callahan Co., TX; married 2 Apr 1873 in
Warren Co., KY, Elizabeth Sweney Liles (1855-1940).
Their son: Heywood Elmer Butler, born 18 Apr 1895 in Farmers Branch,
Dallas Co., TX, died 10 Jan 1970, Post, Garza Co., TX; married 24 Dec
1916 Ruby Kelley in Putnam, Callahan Co., TX.
Their son: Stanley Lanier Butler.
We think that Robert L. Butler was the son of Elizabeth HUFFMAN
(daughter of Mary READ and Charles HUFFMAN) and Fielding BUTLER, both
originally from Culpeper Co., VA, but moved to Barren Co., KY between
1820 and 1830. Fielding was in the War of 1812 and drowned in Barren
Co. in Feb 1836 without leaving a will.
Fielding was the son of Elizabeth ?Thornton? and Spencer BUTLER
(1757-1818) of Culpeper Co., VA.
Spencer was the son of Mary and William BUTLER (1735-???) of Culpeper
Co., VA.
Hopefully the rest of you guys who have received your results will post
them, too.
Thanks, and have a great day.
Best wishes,
Sharon Clark
