Your querie caught my attention! Do you know why Jobie came to Gadsden,
Alabama? My maiden name is Butler and I grew up and still live around the Gadsden
area. My John S. Butler b. abt. 1810 SC settled in this area around 1840 and
had 14 children that I know of. There was also another Butler family in the area
in the early 1800s. At this time we are trying to link the two families
together through DNA. Madison is also a name that we see in our line. My John S.
married in Perry County, AL. I don't know if there is a connection or just
coincidence but would love to talk with you.
