The dates you have for John would appear to actually refer to William O'Brien Butler who married Catherine Butler dau. of Edmond 8th Baron Dunboyne. They had 3 sons, James 1718, Thomas 1720 and Joseph 1728. William O'Brien Butler is said to had died in Culpeper Virginia in 1757.
