Subject: [Bygones-Users] Research DB, "Search Result Summary" Field

FYI...
I just noticed a little something in the Research DB. In the "Search
Result Summary" field, there is a pop up "value list" (Found Positive,
Found Probable, Found Possible, Found Doubtful, & NIL.) If you use those
words at the beginning part of your "Search Result Summary," you can later
always enter the word "Found" in that field during searches/finds to
include only searches you at least found something for. However, I meant
to make it easy for users to change those terms or categories if they
wanted to. But, I just noticed, out of the four Research Extract layouts
in the .9b Research DB, the only one that I have it properly set up to
allow the user to edit them is in the "Research Extract w/ Doc File" layout.
For "version 1" you will be able to edit those from any of the Research
Extract layouts. But with .9b, you have to go to the "Research Extract w/
Doc File" layout to do so. Just go to that pop-up menu in that layout, and
chose "Edit..." from the pop-up menu. Changes made through that layout
change the "value list" itself, and will show up in any of the "Research
Extract" layouts.
Of course, on that "Search Result Summary" field, you can add additional
text after the "Found Positive," etc. But, you either have to click the
mouse in that field to do so; or you can tab to it again, but then hit the
"escape" key when the pop-up menu or that field first comes up. Then you
can enter any additional text you would like.
For version 1, I also have made a change to the script for the Research DB
"New Extract" button, so that it will not give you a "invalid search
criteria" error message if you click on it from an extract without anything
entered in the "Log File" field.
