Hi Elizabeth

Thankyou for your kind response.

>>The families that I am researching are in all the UK.> better tell me the
surnames -- just in case I've come >>across them, although it is unlikely

That's sadly true.... My main families are Baker and Turner (my maternal
grandparents). The "off shoots" from there include King, Smith (sigh...), &
Keen.

><If you have more samples of how you set up your templates, I would really
appreciate seeing them.> I'll see >>what I can do when I've imported them
into the latest .9c which I've just downloaded

Thanks- that would be very appreciated!

>>should be read as List all T145 & possible T145 names...

Oh! Soundex- I don't know why I didn't think of that. Very logical.

>>Also remember to change the research date from today's date [the default]
to the actual research date..

A good point to remember!

>>if I don't know an exact date I take a guess at the year & make it Jan
1 --...

Ahh- good idea-like it.

>>when would you want, or not want, to check off the option regarding
performing auto entering options while >>importing?> I've only met that when
importing records into a database, but basic advice is DON'T! I did try it
>>& wasn't happy with the results ...

I'm really glad to get an answer on this one!

>><... will input from scratch.> hopefully, it'll be quicker than you think

Yeah- I think so too. Plus, it will probably help to reform some images
that I had in the library- that escape me now...

>>This is from our revised first newsletter, August 2000, you might find
some of it useful:

Thanks for sharing your system- and the newsletter.

<< what a great tool! >> it is, & I feel priviledged to have had a hand in
it's developement.

No doubt!

>>Regards,
>>Elizabeth

Does anybody else on the list have any interesting techniques/ideas to share
involving Bygones that has made a difference in your research? Any goofs
that one could easily avoid?

Thanks again Elizabeth-
