The eastern coast of Ireland was known as "O'BYRNE's Country" in
Shakespeare's time. Many of us are descended from the O'Byrne Clan.

Here's where you can see a copy of the original proclamation, dated
1603,
establishing Wicklow as a County in Ireland to control the "wild and
barbarous O'Byrne clan".
