The consensus seems to be that Maud and her son William starved to
death at Windsor. Early sources including the "Brut y Tywysogion" and
Matthew Paris give this place for their confinement and death. Some
later writers say Corfe though. A possible reason for the confusion is
that Maud's children who were not starved with her were confined at
Corfe.
