You could do as I have with my research on Littlefields...say what you know
and where it comes from and what your supposition is. As long as you make it
clear that it is unsubstantiated theory, you will not be doing a terrible
disservice to the truth. We have a number of family members whose
circumstances and exact origins are based on hearsay and supposition, but in
my notes I am careful to state that that is where the information comes from.

...at least until someone comes along and says "Yup, that's a duck." =)

(Truthfully, I think the mystery of the thing makes for better reading!)
