There is an apparent desertion of family in there, so YES, you may use
IBSSG after your name.

> In WPA Index to marriage records for Vanderburgh Co, IN. (1324973) I found the marriage of Augusta BROWN to Charles OR. NORTON on 28 Feb 1882. Augusta's father's given name listed as PW. (This could have been miss read from DW.) Mother's maiden name given as FORSYTHE. The story was that she did not know until the day she was married that the father of her brothers and sisters (G.M. Brown from Scotland) was not her father. The man presumed to be her father had been kicked out by her mother when she was a baby, and had tried to take her with him.
> According to Louise Norton, (my mother's sister) the name was supposed to be Milton Barnes. Mildred Norton (another of my mother's sisters) gave this name as the father on the death certificate. Census searches (1850 Census) have found that Augusta's mother, Mary Jane Forsythe had been married to David W. Brown, not a G.M. Brown. He died before January of 1856. Augusta would have moved with her mother and sister Jennie from Cannelton to Evansville, Vanderburg Co. IN between 1860 and 1870. It took a house to house search to find them there in 1880. In the History of Vanderburg Co. I found that Jennie Brown had taught over 15 years and Augusta Brown was a teacher. They lived in a house bought for them by my great uncle Jim (Robert J. Brown) who gave many nice things to his little step sister Augusta.
> So my search for Milton G. Barnes began. A Milton G. Barnes is found in the 1850 census living in Waynesfield, Lucas Co., OH and working as a boatman. He had a 23 year old wife and a 4 month old daughter. He could have deserted them or they could have died, for he shows up in Perry County, IN and is married to Mary Jane Forsythe Brown on 4 Nov 1854. (My grandmother, Augusta, was born on 29 Nov 1855) Milton Barnes was described by my Aunt Louise as supposed to be a red headed Irishman from Vermont. During the May term 1856 Perry Circuit County Court session, Mary Jane was granted a divorce since Milton "became dissipated, squandered her property, neglected to make suitable provision for the maintenance of herself and infant children, and that he treated her cruelly and she further represents to the court that since her said marriage, she has become the mother of a daughter, Augusta Cesa Barnes". She also petitioned and was granted a name change for herself, back to Mary!

> ane Brown, and her daughter's name changed to Augusta C. Brown. After he deserted (or was kicked out by) her he could have gone to Nebraska, for a Milton G. Barnes shows up in the 1856 Nebraska Territory Census in Nebraska City, Otoe Co. That is as far as I've been able to trace him.
