Hmmmm.... trying to imagine what kind of symbol of belief (or lack
thereof) an atheist would put on display. Oh, I've got it! Nothing! And
that's what he apparently did--put nothing on display. ;-)
So, by having the Christmas tree removed and the Christmas holiday being
transformed to Winter Festival, instead of "them" inflicting their belief
structure on him, he's effectively inflicted "his" beliefs on "them." And
I'll bet he's missed that point entirely.
Seriously, I just don't get why there's so much uproar when people have
differing views on religion and/or holidays. Christmas trees, lighted
minorah and other varied symbols/icons are just esthetically pretty and
COULD be accepted on that basis if people would just set their #%$#!! egos
aside. And, bottom line, that's what it all boils down to... EGO.
I get so tired of the "I/me/my/mine" attitudes. These people need to get
a life and get over themselves, imho. For crying out loud, whatever
happened to "if you don't like it, don't look?" Geezzzz *sigh*
