yeah-we used to put a chicken's head under our arm and it wouldn't move, then when uncovered just stood there looking confused for a few moments..

Grandma gave us "chicken moments." Anyone who knows chickens is aware of how
easily they can be distracted, redirected and confused, so whenever someone
would throw a totally unrelated comment into a conversation, jump to a
completely different conversation in midstream, etc., she'd say they were
having a chicken moment.
