Hi Doris
Aside from the Jayne family issue, I wonder what sort of work a man said to
be a Labourer would do in the 1851 census. That is what Amelia Jayne's
father-in-law, David Lewis was. Amelia's father, William, was a sawyer, as
was his eldest son John. The next son, Alexander, was a Fireman. They give
most occupations, and often say if he was a Farm Labourer. I suspect he may
have been either connected the iron, or the tram road industry.
Any thoughts?
Dale
