I'm looking for anyone connected with the Ingold family in early Brick
Church records. They lived on Stinking Quarter Creek, along what is now
the Guilford/Alamance county line.

I go back to Frederick Ingold (born 1810) who married Susan Shew/Shoe in
Guilford Co on 8/6/1829. Within a few months of their marriage, they
moved west to Wilkes Co where "Ingold" became "Ingool".

In the last few years I have done research in Greensboro and at the
Archives in Raleigh and I believe Frederick is the son of William Ingold
and his wife Eve. I found estate records for William dated as early as
11/23/1820 where his estate was being divided up between nine children,
most of them minors, including my Frederick. I believe William's widow
Eve died before 5/21/1830 when her small estate was settled in Guilford
court. In looking at settlement records, it appears that the Ingold
family was hit hard between 1813 and 1830. Several other members of
this family also died at a relatively early age including two of
William's brothers.

It looks like William Ingold was born about 1780 and was one of six
children of Peter Ingold (1753-1825) who is said to be buried at Brick
Church. Peter's wife may have been Christina Strader.

Is anyone else working on this family?
