Re 1891 Census query
Hi
certainly Somerset it is not indexed by surname as the 1881 census was. I
found that this was a double edge - it was difficult to put the families
back in groups again having them split up by alphabetical order, but it
helped with all the 'strays' that I probably would never have spotted
staying elsewhere!
The somerset Census for 1881 & 1891 is available in my local Library and
seems to be more popular than the earlier ones. Try your local history
section - you could stike gold! without having to travel too far.
Happy hunting
Maggie
